The Tampa Bay Region of Florida is named after the Tampa Bay, a body of water on the Gulf Coast surrounding the Greater Tampa area and flows out into the Gulf of Mexico. The Tampa Bay Region consists of eight counties and three major cities that make up the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metropolitan statistical area.

Counties within the Tampa Bay Region are Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Pasco County, Citrus County, Hernando, Polk County, Manatee County and Sarasota County.
