St. Petersburg is a city in Pinellas County located in West Central Florida, east of the Gulf of Mexico and west of Tampa Bay. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the estimated population of St. Petersburg in 2004 was 249,090. It is the second largest city in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metropolitan area.

St. Petersburg is known as a vacation and retirement destination, commonly referred to as “The Sunshine City.” In 2005, Fort De Soto Beach in St. Pete was voted as American #1 Beach. Downtown St. Petersburg is filled with restaurants, shops, galleries and museums. The two most popular museums are the Salvador Dali Museum and the Holocaust Museum, just minutes from the St. Pete Pier.
