The Northeast Region of Florida is located just south of the Georgia boarder and east of the Atlantic Ocean. Some refer to this region as the First Coast representing the “first coast” of the permanent European settlement in St. Augustine, Florida. This region consists of seven counties. Jacksonville is the largest city in the northeast region, as well as, the largest city in the state of Florida. Amelia Island and St. Augustine are the most popular cities among tourists due to the warm beaches and historical landmarks.

The seven counties with in the Northeast region of Florida are Baker County, Clay County, Duval County, Flagler County, Nassau County, Putnam County and St. Johns County.
