The city of Jacksonville, county seat of Duval County, is situated on the banks of St. Johns River located on the northeast region of Florida. Currently, Jacksonville is the largest city in the state of Florida and considered the thirteenth most populous city in the United States. According to the 2005 census, 782, 623 people live within the city limits.
This large city is home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, a National Football League in the AFC and play at the ALLTEL Stadium in downtown Jacksonville. Major improvements were put into the stadium in 2003 when Jacksonville announced they would be hosting the Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005.
Every April, the city holds the annual Jacksonville Jazz Festival which happens to be the second largest Jazz Festival in the nation. Other annual festivals include Jacksonville Film Festival and music festivals such as Planetfest, Come Together Day, The Spring Music Fest and Springing the Blues.
Visitors of the city spend their time near the Jacksonville’s beaches where most of the nightlife is centered around. Other must see sights include Jacksonville Landing Shopping Center and Jacksonville Zoological Gardens.
