Coral Springs is one of the many cities in Broward County on the Southeast region of Florida. The city is east of the Everglades and surrounded by five less populous cities in Broward County. The surrounding cities include Parkland, Coconut Creek, Margate, North Fort Lauderdale and Tamarac. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the estimated population in 2005 was 127,654, an 8% increase since 2000. Coral Springs is part of the Miami-Fort Lauderdale Metropolitan area or South Florida Metropolitan area which is the sixth largest metropolitan area in the United States.
